Supplies You’ll Need:
Assorted latex balloons in various sizes (5", 9"/10", 12", and 18")
Balloon pump (manual or electric)
Clear 260 balloons (long, skinny balloons used for balloon animals—used as flexible ties)
Command hooks or backdrop stand (for hanging)
Optional: Faux greenery, paper fans, tassels, or florals
Step 1: Choose Your Balloon Color Palette
Pick 3–5 colors that match your party theme. A mix of solid colors, translucent finishes, and even printed or textured balloons add dimension.
Pro Tip: Use 60% main color, 30% accent color, 10% pop color for balance.
Step 2: Inflate Your Balloons
Blow up balloons in pairs of two, one large and one small. Don’t overinflate—slightly underfilled balloons have a rounder shape and are easier to work with.
Use your pump to inflate a 12" and 5" balloon, tie the ends together.
Repeat until you have 40–50 duos in various sizes.
Step 3: Cluster Balloons in Quads
Take two duos and twist their necks together to form a cluster of four (a "quad"). These quads will be the building blocks of your garland.
Make 10–15 quads depending on the length you want.
Step 4: Use 260 Balloons to Connect the Quads
Cut your 260 balloon in half to make it shorter and stretchier.
Tie one end to the center of a quad.
Add another quad and twist them together.
Wrap the 260 balloon around the joint 2–3 times, then tie it off or tuck it in.
Continue until the full garland is formed.
Step 5: Add Extra Texture & Minis
Use leftover 5" and 9" balloons to fill gaps:
Inflate and tie them off.
Attach with half a 260 balloon or glue dot directly to the garland.
Add texture elements like faux florals, fringe, or ribbon.
Step 6: Install & Shape the Garland
Hang your garland using:
Command hooks on walls
Backdrop stands
Curtain rods or railings
Use extra 260s to tie the garland onto your hanging surface. Adjust balloon angles to create a natural curve or swag effect.
Final Look!
Add the final touches: tassels, signs, nameplates, or theme props.
Stand back, admire your masterpiece, and prepare for guests to ask, “Who did your balloons?!”
Quick Tips for Success:
Use good quality balloons for richer color and durability.
If a balloon pops while tying, just grab a new one—no stress!
260 balloons offer more control and flexibility than glue dots.
